Guidelines for Ordering

Fair Oaks Farms^TM makes every effort to maintain the quality of our fine products. We are sure you will be delighted with your selections. Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt. If there is any problem with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt. Credit will not be granted if unsatisfactory items are discarded or consumed.

ORDERS

Toll free telephone orders (877) 273-1814, web site orders or faxed orders (219) 394-2276 can be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Fair Oaks Farms^TM accepts the following credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Cash, checks or money orders are not accepted. All prices are subject to change without notice. Catalog prices do not reflect the cost of delivery. We do not ship C.O.D. Sales taxes will automatically be added to any applicable purchase.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

It takes 48 hours to receive and process your order. Orders placed before midnight will be automatically shipped the second following business day, Monday – Thursday. Due to the perishable nature of our product, we ship all orders to arrive no longer than two days, ONLY ORDERS THAT WILL ARRIVE NEXT DAY WILL BE SHIPPED ON THURSDAYS. Please note that all cheese orders placed on Wednesday – Friday will ship Monday. We cannot ship Friday – Sunday.

If desired, you can select a future ship date during the checkout process. Please note that if you select a ship date for your order during checkout, it will not apply to Cheese of the Month purchases.

During December and other peak periods, we may require several days to process and deliver your order and will inform you of any unusual delays. Orders for Christmas must be placed prior to December 10 to guarantee holiday delivery.

Fair Oaks Farms will not assume responsibility for any incorrect addresses provided to us; delivery, return and re-delivery charges will apply. We STRONLY RECOMMEND that when ordering perishable items, you confirm that the recipient or there responsible party will be available to receive, open and properly store your order. We are unable to replace cheeses that perish due to recipient’s being unavailable at the time of delivery.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS

Fair Oaks Farms^TM can ship anywhere in the world, provided the customer assumes all shipping costs; taxes and tariffs; and liability for the quality of the cheese due to time-in-transit. Please note that our website will not generate accurate shipping charges for international shipments, even those going to Canada or Puerto Rico. PACKAGING

Your cheeses are packaged with gel ice packs to ensure quality standards for up to 48 hours. In the summer months, your cheeses will be packaged in insulated cartons and fitted with gel ice packs. While the freeze packs are frozen solid when they leave our facility, they may arrive soft and thawed. Receiving thawed or even warm freeze packs with your cheeses should not be cause for alarm. Our cheeses are perfectly safe to eat, even if they arrive warm.

The telling sign if cheese is spoiled is a sharp ammonia smell. In the small Styrofoam cooler, this aroma builds up, making the cheese smell especially strong upon opening the box for the first time. Cheese making began as a way to preserve highly perishable milk in hot climates. The digestible bacteria essential to making cheese keeps each other in check and prohibit other, harmful bacteria from setting up their home in the cheese. A period of even a day or two out of refrigeration will not render the cheese harmful to consume. Simply put the soft cheeses in the refrigerator upon receipt to allow them to firm up again.

Be sure to remove them from the refrigerator about an hour before you plan to enjoy them, so they can re-warm to room temperature. This will allow you to enjoy their full flavors. Unless used primarily for cooking, we do not recommend freezing cheese, as this will change the flavor and texture of the product.

Items ordered together are not necessarily shipped together.

QUALITY

We will always try to cut the specific amount of cheese requested, but it is possible that we might cut slightly more or less. Please understand that this is one of the challenges of offering a handcrafted product and that we will do our best to make sure you are satisfied. All Fair Oaks Farms^TM Products are “All Natural” produced with milk from cows NOT treated with any hormones or antibiotics.

PRODUCT SUBSTITUTIONS

Due to seasonal availability and supply limitations, we may need to substitute items within one of our gift selections to ensure freshness and timely delivery. We will always compose your gift with alternative ingredients of equal or greater quality and value.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

All e-mail addresses and personal information (such as name, address, credit card number, etc.) are transmitted in an encrypted form for your protection. All information is collected for our use only; Fair Oaks Farms^TM protects this information both online and offline.

GIFT CARDS

Fair Oaks Farms^TM Gift Cards may be redeemed toward the purchase of any of our cheeses, food products, and accessories. Gift Cards must be redeemed over the phone by calling our store Monday – Sunday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (CST) at 219-394-2684.

All Gift Cards are mailed out via USPS First-Class Mail upon receipt of your order. Fair Oaks Farms Gift Cards are valid at the Fair Oaks Farms Cheese Plant and Retail Store.

A personalized gift note can be included with all of our products at no extra charge.
